摘要：	C.W. Beilfuss & Associates (CWB) has worked with the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) and the South Dakota Highway Patrol (SDHP) for several years in developing and implementing the SUPERLOAD-Route, Bridge, and PASS systems. In using the system, the SDHP has identified several system enhancements that would further automate or ease the processing of oversize/overweight permits and the vehicle routing applications. In addition, the SDDOT has recently completed an inventory of interchange ramps on the interstate and state highway networks. These ramps should now be included in the routing application so all ramp bridges can be analyzed and network links can be redefined to include access points with local roadways. Finally, permit and reporting enhancements will allow users additional options for monitoring and storing permit and routing data and expanding the permit types available for electronic screening at the Jefferson Port of Entry. The objectives of this research project are to: (1) Develop enhancements for the South Dakota Automated Permitting System (SDAPS) to incorporate additional permit types for e-screening applications; (2) Enhance the SDAPS roadway network to include interchange ramps and connections to local roadways; and (3) Develop enhanced reporting capabilities for SDAPS internet users.
