| 摘要： | The repair and rehabilitation of structures is costly, time consuming and often times disruptive to traffic. Although fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composites are increasingly being considered for use by departments of transportation (DOTs) for both the rehabilitation of deteriorating/deficient components and systems, and for new construction, there are still concerns related to the long-term durability of the specific classes of materials used in these applications. The following tasks are necessary to accomplish the objective of this project: (1) selection of field sites and development of exposure frames; (2) field exposure; (3) testing of exposed specimens; (4) laboratory simulation of field exposures and testing of specimens; (5) development of correlations; and (6) development of approach at the structural level. Tasks #1 and #2 will be accomplished under this contract and the remaining tasks as part of a follow-on Pooled Fund Project. |
