December 2021 - Project to be built under single bore tunnel option; October 2021 - Federal Transit Administration (FTA) issued a Letter of Intent (LOI) to Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) stating its intention to obligate funds for the project; June 2021 - RfQ launched for the phase II and stations; May 2021 - Major construction is expected to start in 2022; February 2021 - BART could get USD140mn grant to begin second phase; January 2021 - US FTA has earmarked USD100mn to the VTA for line; November 2020 - Transportation Authority (VTA) has released a Request for Industry Feedback (RFIF) to gather information and gauge interest from the architects, engineers, contractors and subcontractors for the contract package that includes design and construction of the three underground stations; August 2019 - FTA has announced the allocation of USD125mn to the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) for the project; January 2019 - Contract worth USD125mn has been awarded to Mott McDonald and PGH Wong Engineering JV to provide general engineering services; Project is part of 10.46 km (6.5 miles) Phase II of BART Silicon Valley Extension Project |
