摘要：	The Transportation Materials Research Center (TMRC) shares these tenants of Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) mission, vision, and values, and are committed to providing quality transportation materials research to Michigan in the most cost effective manner possible. As the partnership between MDOT, the TMRC, and other stakeholders continues, the project will seek to find innovative solutions to problems facing the use of materials in transportation infrastructure. Specifically, the TMRC seeks to provide available technical expertise and facilities with the following direct benefits to MDOT: (1) provide technical support in areas of core competency to address MDOT needs, both immediate and long-term. MDOT will be able to draw upon these resources on an as-needed basis to support their current in-house capabilities; (2) presentation of research results to a broad audience, both inside and outside of Michigan, through publications and technical presentations at workshops or conferences; (3) facilitate cooperative research and product development between MDOT, other State and Federal transportation agencies, non-governmental research organizations, and other universities; and (4) the creation of a pool of highly skilled graduating engineers that are potentially future MDOT and Michigan transportation industry employees that have benefited from increased and enhanced research opportunities at Michigan Tech.
