| 摘要： | Snow and ice buildup on traffic lights during storms is a safety issue for vehicular traffic. Attempts to mitigate this issue have met with limited success. Replacement of existing traffic lights with lower power light emitting diode (LED) lights have made the problem even more of an issue, due to reduction in the amount of heat available to melt ice and snow. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) seeks a solution that will maintain the low power consumption of the LED lights, but not require applications of coatings or cleaning of ice and snow during storms. |
