| 摘要： | It is estimated that roadway safety can be enhanced in Indiana through the addition of Flashing Yellow Arrows as an engineering option at traffic signals for protected/permitted turns. The addition of such a signal would serve to provide consistency between similar signal indications. The implementation of this technology may reduce crashes up to 30% at intersections. Statewide implementation of this may provide additional opportunities for INDOT to receive federal safety funds, resulting in a lifesaving and revenue positive change. Currently, Indiana does not have a comprehensive set of guidelines for statewide implementation practices; such will be remedied through this research. |
