A Co-Simulation Study to Assess the Impacts of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles on Traffic Flow Stability during Hurricane Evacuation
项目名称: A Co-Simulation Study to Assess the Impacts of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles on Traffic Flow Stability during Hurricane Evacuation
摘要: The goal of this project is to assess the potential impact of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) on traffic flow stability during a highly congested situation (e.g., evacuation period) using a co-simulation approach. The project will develop a co-simulation framework integrating a microscopic traffic simulator and a communication simulator, develop a traffic-aware communication routing algorithm that prioritizes traffic stability, develop a Reinforcement Learning (RL)-based controller to train CAV agents to stabilize overall traffic in a highly congested condition, and assess the impact of the connectivity and the RL agent to stabilize the traffic system and reduce the number of potential collisions.
