ESRA – (E-Survey of Road user´s Attitudes) is a joint initiative of road safety institutes, including VTI, research centers, authorities and private actors from all over the world. The ESRA-project is about conducting a survey on the attitudes of road users in more than 46 countries representing 6 different continents. The survey is partly based on questions from previous SARTRE studies. The ESRA survey was conducted in the autumn 2018 and spring 2019 and through its participation VTI has access to raw data for Sweden. The survey addresses relevant issues in many different road safety areas such as alcohol and drugs in traffic, speeds, use of mobile phones, helmet use, automation and support systems, legislation and more. The proposed project will provide opportunities for Sweden to benchmark itself against the other participating countries, and to analyze Swedish data in more detail to gain better knowledge of attitudes, norms and experiences of different areas relevant for road safety in Sweden. The project can thus lead to areas with improvement potential being identified for Sweden through benchmarking against other countries as well as increased knowledge of the behavior and attitudes of different road user groups. The analyses will be performed through the use different statistical methods such as regression analysis and cluster analysis. |
