摘要: | Geosynthetics have long been used for reinforcing unboundbase/subbase layers in paved and unpaved roads. Field applications show that the various types of distresses can be reduced and the service life of pavement can be extended with the help of geosynthetic reinforcements. They control thelateral movement of the granular material through friction/interlocking or direct confinement. By doing so, the geosynthetic applies an additionalconfining stress to the granular material, which may increase the resilientmodulus and reduce the permanent deformation of the reinforcedmaterial under repeated loads. In this paper, an analytical model suggested by Yang et.al. (2013) for resilient modulus of geosynthetic improved material is used to interpret the behavior of geosynthetic reinforced granular material under repeated load conditions and used in the calculations to obtain the pavement responses. The reinforcement is considered in the form of geogrid, geocell and bamboo materials. The test sections were analyzed and the sections were constructed in the field. The paper presents a few salient points of the study and its implications in pavement engineering. |
