摘要: | Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) is gaining popularity in aspha It construction industry of India due to associated environmental and economic benefits. Meanwhile, challenges to sustain increased axle loads and tyre pressures along with variations in rainfall and temperatures have created an impetus for the use of modified binders for construction of highways in India. This study addresses the effect of SoA WMA. Marshall and volumetric parameters are evaluated to determine the maximum possible reduction in production temperatures with polymer and crumb rubber modified binders at different contents of WMA additive. Results of experimental testing show that WMA mixes with both binders are able to meet the MoRTH specifications for conventional Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) even up to a reduction of 35℃ in the production temperature. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) results showed that individual effects as well as two-way interactions of binder type, reduction in production temperature, and additive content significantly affect bulk density and Marshall stability. |
