| 摘要： | Driver speed choice is influenced in part by the geometric characteristics of the roadway. Developing a better understanding of this influence on drivers would aid designers in matching their roadway designs to the eventual operating conditions. A limited study was conducted to determine the feasibility of using individual drivers in an instrumented test vehicle to study the influence of geometric elements on speed. It was concluded that although the technique was limited because of sample size requirements and the time required to collect data for each individual, strong statistical comparisons could be made using this type of data. |
