TWENTY YEARS AGO, the Ala bama State Docks handled 2 million more tons of cargo than in the previous year; the University of Minnesota said it would buy a 19th century showboat replica under construction by the Padelford Packet Boat Company of St. Paul, Minn.; and Cooper/T. Smith Corporation bought Murray Stevedoring of Mobile (Ala.) for an undisclosed sum. |
