摘要: THE PROGRAMME OF RECONSTRUCTION OF REAL LIFE PEDESTRIAN/CAR COLLISIONS IS AIMED AT FINDING POSSIBLE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE OCCURRENCE AND SEVERITY OF PEDESTRIAN HEAD INJURIES AND DETERMINING COLLISION PARAMETERS, E.G. COLLISION SPEED, INVOLVEMENT OF THE VEHICLE, CONDITIONS AT THE ACCIDENT SITE, SIZE OF THE PEDESTRIAN, POSITION OF THE PEDESTRIAN AND HIS BEHAVIOUR IN RELATION TO THE CAR DURING THE COLLISION. THIS TYPE OF RECONSTRUCTION PROVIDES INFORMATION ON THE TOLERANCE OF THE HUMAN HEAD IN COLLISIONS BY ENABLING A COMPARISON BETWEEN THE SEVERITY OF ACTUAL INJURIES AND PHYSICAL MEASUREMENTS. THE RECONSTRUCTION MAY SERVE AS A BASIS FOR HEAD PROTECTION CRITERIA.
