RECONSTRUCTION OF PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENTS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF RESEARCH ON BIOMECHANICS
项目名称: RECONSTRUCTION OF PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENTS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF RESEARCH ON BIOMECHANICS
摘要: DATA ARE TO BE OBTAINED ON THE TOLERANCE LIMITS OF THE HUMAN BODY WHEN SUBJECTED TO THE MECHANICAL EFFECTS OF A PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT. REAL ACCIDENTS ARE BEING SIMULATED. WELL-DOCUMENTED ACCIDENTS WHICH CAN BE USED IN TESTS AND ARE TYPICAL ARE BEING SELECTED, AND PRELIMINARY TESTS CONDUCTED ON THE EXACT REPRODUCTION OF THE ACTUAL ACCIDENT. THE RESULTS OF THE PRELIMINARY TESTS ARE BEING ASSESSED TO ESTABLISH THE PARAMETERS FOR DUMMY AND CADAVER TESTS. FROM DUMMY TESTS ONE CAN OBTAIN MEASUREMENTS OF ACCELERATIONS IN VARIOUS REGIONS OF THE BODY, AND FROM CADAVER TESTS ONE CAN ALSO DETERMINE INJURIES TO THE BODY. THE RESULTS OF THE TESTS ARE BEING COMPARED TO THE INJURIES SUSTAINED IN THE REAL ACCIDENT, MAKING IT POSSIBLE TO RELATE MECHANICAL LOADING TO INJURY. SOME OF THE PRELIMINARY TESTS AND DUMMY TESTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN CARRIED OUT; CADAVER TESTS HAVE NOT YET STARTED. TESTS SO FAR SHOW THAT REAL ACCIDENTS CAN BE WELL SIMULATED. RESULTS ARE NOT YET AVAILABLE ON BIOMECHANICAL TOLERANCE LIMITS.
