USUALLY A CONSTANT STRESS IN THE CONTACT AREA OF THE TYRE IS ASSUMED FOR THE CALCULATION OF STRESSES ON THE CARRIAGEWAY. IN REALITY THERE ARE FIELDS OF STRESS CONSISTING OF VERY DIFFERENT AREAS OF LOWER AND HIGHER STRESSES. THE MODIFICATIONS CAUSED BY THIS WERE ESTABLISHED FOR VERTICAL WHEEL LOADS USING THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD. BECAUSE OF THE INCREASE IN THE HORIZONTAL STRESSES THE EFFECT OF THE RESULTING FORCES HAS TO BE CALCULATED. THE VARIOUS TYRE PARAMETERS HAVE TO BE ALTERED AS FAR AS POSSIBLE SO THAT INFORMATION CAN BE OBTAINED FOR OPTIMISATION. |
