GROOVES IN ROAD SURFACINGS TO IMPROVE TYRE-ROAD ADHESION IN THE WET - EFFECTIVENESS, DRAWBACKS, COMPARISONS |
摘要: |
ON ROAD SECTIONS WITH SMALL GRADIENTS AND CONSEQUENTLY UNFAVOURABLE CONDITIONS FOR WATER RUN OFF, TYRE-ROAD ADHESION IN THE WET CAN BE IMPROVED BY THE CUTTING OF GROOVES INTO THE ROAD SURFACING. THE RESEARCH COMPRISES STUDIES OF THE EFFECTIVENESS AND THE STRUCTURAL CONDITION OF THESE GROOVES, AND OF POSSIBLE DISADVANTAGES, IN RELATION TO THEIR SPACING, SIZE, SHAPE AND DIRECTION (TRANSVERSE OR LONGITUDINAL). EXPERIMENTAL SECTIONS OF ROADS WITH VARIOUS GROOVE PATTERNS ARE TO BE ESTABLISHED, WITH ASPHALTIC CONCRETE, GUSSASPHALT AND CEMENT CONCRETE SURFACINGS, AND OBSERVED FOR A PERIOD OF UP TO 3 YEARS. |
