摘要: THE RESEARCH IS TO FOLLOW UP THE BEARING CAPACITY TESTS CARRIED OUT AT THE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF HANNOVER ON MODELS OF THIN-WALLED BOX GIRDERS WITHOUT STRUTS, IN WHICH ONLY THE THIN WALL ELEMENT WAS SUBJECTED TO SHEAR OR NORMAL STRESS. THE PROGRAMME IS TO COMPRISE BEARING CAPACITY TESTS UNDER COMBINED SHEAR AND NORMAL STRESS. THE AIM IS TO ESTABLISH THE SUPPORT BEHAVIOUR BY SYSTEMATIC VARIATION OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF IMPORTANT PARAMETERS (CROSS SECTION AND STRESS RATIO OF THE BENDING MOMENT TO THE TORSIONAL MOMENT). THE RESEARCH FORMS PARTS OF THE COMMON PROGRAMME ENTITLED "PLATE BULGING TESTS 2" OF THE GERMAN ASSOCIATION FOR STEEL ENGINEERING.
