摘要: THE OBJECT OF THE RESEARCH IS: (1) TO DETERMINE RELATIONS BETWEEN TYPE OF TRAFFIC (CAR, LORRY, NUMBER OF VEHICLES) AND VENTILATION BY VEHICLE THRUST IN RELATION TO SPEED; (2) TO WORK OUT DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS FOR THE LONGITUDINAL MOVEMENT OF THE MASS OF AIR IN THE TUNNEL, AND THE NECESSARY RELATIONS FOR SELF-VENTILATION; (3) TO SOLVE THE EQUATIONS BY COMPUTER; (4) TO ILLUSTRATE THE RESULTS IN DIAGRAMS OR TABLES; (5) TO STUDY THE EFFECT OF SELF-VENTILATION ON THE CROSS SECTION OF THE TUNNEL EXCAVATION AND THE OUTPUT OF VENTILATORS; (6) TO WORK OUT EXAMPLES.
