THE AIM OF THIS RESEARCH IS TO FULLY COMPREHEND AND DEVELOP THE USE OF INFRA-RED RAYS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING WITH A VIEW TO APPLYING THEM TO NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING. THIS IS A CONTINUATION OF PART OF RESEARCH PROJECT IRRD NO 500601. WITH EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE AT SOME LABORATORIES (CINE CAMERA, RADIO THERMOMETER), IT IS PROPOSED FIRST: (1) TO STUDY THE INFLUENCE OF DIFFERENT PARAMETERS (HYGROMETRY AND SURROUNDING TEMPERATURE) ON THE RESPONSE OF THE EQUIPMENT IN RELATION TO THE EMISSION COEFFICIENT OF THE MATERIALS OBSERVED. (2) TO CONDUCT FEASIBILITY STUDIES WITH REGARD TO: - THE DETECTION OF CRACKS IN CONCRETE, - THE OPERATION OF DRAINS (CENTRAL RESERVES, SPORTS GROUNDS), - THE STABILIZATION OF SOIL WITH LIME, - THE CALIBRATION OF SAMPLES SIMULATING STRUCTURES (WELDABILITY CRITERIA), - THE MEASUREMENT OF THE SURFACE TEMPERATURE OF BITUMINOUS MIXTURES DURING APPLICATION. A STUDY WILL ALSO BE CONDUCTED OF METHODS OF DETECTING AND ANALYZING INFRA-RED RAYS USED IN COMMERCIAL EQUIPMENT. |
