| 摘要： | The proposed research will involve a detailed study of speed-related trends on Iowa rural interstates, as well as on the high-speed non-freeway system including two-lane and multi-lane highways. This study will specifically examine current trends in travel speeds, as well as traffic crashes, injuries, and fatalities over time. Finally, the economic impacts associated with increasing speed limits on rural interstates will be assessed. This study will address the safety and operational impacts of increasing the speed limit on rural interstates in Iowa. The proposed work is comprised of the following tasks: Task 1. Conduct Literature Review; Task 2. Collect National-Level Data; Task 3. Collect Iowa-Specific Data; Task 4. Analyze National-Level Data; Task 5. Analyze Iowa-Specific Data; Task 6. Examine Design Issues; and Task 7. Prepare Final Project Report. |
