摘要：	The background to the project is the great need for knowledge of the damage to the road network leading to maintenance in the short and long term. An understanding of the causes of maintenance is necessary to reduce the need for maintenance through proper design and optimized maintenance strategies considering LCC and LCA, but also to evaluate the impact of changing conditions, such as increased allowed gross vehicle weight of 74 tonnes. Since the scope of work is difficult to assess at this stage this project is operated for a year as an extended pilot study with renewed application after one year. This pilot study is thus an important first step that is necessary for the development of the technical area of pavement engineering and road construction. The goal of the work as a whole consists of three milestones: 1. Identification of the causes of maintenance (condition of the road) 2. Identification of causes of damage (lack of performance) 3. Recommendations for methodology (project planning) for the selection of action and design. The goal of the study is to answer the question of how the goal of the work achieved and to develop an action plan. Work plan. In order to achieve the objective of the pilot study it is required that some of the work is carried out to understand the underlying causes for maintenance and damage. Therefore, we suggest the following activities within the pilot study: Interviews with project managers on maintenance action done from 2015 to 2016; In-depth studies of selected objects with structural analysis carried out and compared with data in the PMS; Analysis of information needs for various purposes such as design of road construction, choice of wearing course, the choice of maintenance strategy, long-term planning mm. which of course LCC / LCA and CBA are important bases; Investigation of a system of indicators for technical and functional conditions that meet the above objectives; Study on the need for additional measurements, eg measurements that provide information about the structural load bearing capacity of roads as well as information about the remaining life; Develop action plan for further work, including the formulation of objectives and strategy.
