| 摘要： | While the State of California saw a 43% decline in passenger vehicle fatalities from 2006-2012, pedestrian fatalities declined by only 15%. To accelerate safety improvement for pedestrians, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) initiated the Pedestrian Safety Improvement Program (PSIP) to identify and address systematic problems with regard to pedestrian safety in California. The core of PSIP Phase 2 will involve three main efforts: (i) develop a State-wide pedestrian exposure model for intersections; (ii) develop method to identify pedestrian hotspots across the California State Highway System; and (iii) develop a set of pedestrian safety management tools. |
