摘要: |
On-road vehicles are the predominant source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the transportation sector. Of all on-road vehicles, light-duty vehicles and light-duty trucks (hereafter referred to as cars and trucks) produce the majority of the GHG emissions. There are many methods for reducing GHG emissions from cars and trucks due to the myriad of technology options available to improve the efficiency of vehicles. A detailed analysis of the costs and benefits of various GHG emissions reduction requires a specialized application that optimizes and accounts for all the promising technologies, going beyond what can be accomplished with simple spreadsheet tools. Therefore, EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ) has developed the Optimization Model for reducing Emissions of Greenhouse gases from Automobiles (hereafter referred to as the OMEGA model) to help facilitate the analysis of the costs and benefits of reducing GHG emissions from cars and trucks. / Availability Note: Product reproduced from digital image.
