In our last article, we mentioned the IIJA (Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act) and its funding for broadband in unserved and underserved areas of the United States. The $43 billion allocated to broadband construction has the fiber optic industry in a frenzy. This is partially because of supply chain problems causing long delivery times for basic components like fiber optic cable. In addition, there is the issue of finding workers capable of installing all the fiber optics, a topic I promise to cover soon. However, there are things we need to point out first. |
