| 摘要： | A funny thing happened on the way to the conference - a small incident that illustrates the intersection the various components of the transport network. The train taking Highways and others to the conference was delayed by half an hour after a road vehicle struck a railway bridge. Readers will know that this is a common occurrence but here it resulted in a gaggle of passengers dashing along the platform at Lichfield Trent Valley to catch the connecting train to Sutton Coldfield - and on to the famous Belfry, the conference venue. Among them was the Department for Transport's |DfT) head of local highways maintenance and resilience, Matt Eglinton, providing a fortuitous meeting as we all boarded the train, just in time. |
