In this paper, mechanicalproperties of TWIP950 which is a typical second generation of AHSS have been studied, in- cluding uniaxial tension strength, n-value, r-value and bake hardenability. Frontal impact simulation of a lightweight design by repla- cing 1. 6mm thick ness DC05 on front longitudinal beam with 1. 5mm thick TWIP950 is carried out, which shows a better energy absorp- tion effect of TWIP950 with a 6. 25%weight reduction. Stamping properties of TWIP950 and DC05 are also compared by simulation and trial forming process. The results reveal that TWIP950 shows a better forming ability to DC05 but obviously higher springback. In summa- ry there is an acceptable potential for TWIP950 to be used on the front longitudinal beams to reduce weight, on condition that a effective springback control in die design was carried out and steel blank had a good edge status. |
