Identify and Analyze Inundated Bridge Superstructures in High Velocity Flood Events
项目名称: Identify and Analyze Inundated Bridge Superstructures in High Velocity Flood Events
摘要: Bridges are designed to withstand flood and debris loads; however, it is reported that 53% of bridge failures in the U.S. are caused by hydraulic events, including floods, scour, debris and drifts. TxDOT's design policy requires shear keys in stream crossings based on a freeboard 100-year flood level. this design policy is not applicable to bridges with significant stream velocity and debris in 25-and 50-year floods.
