| 摘要： | ADVANCE, the Advanced Driver and Vehicle Advisory Navigation ConcEpt, is one of the largest, if not the largest Advanced Traveler Information System in the world. ADVANCE aims at providing dynamic traffic information for a roadway network in the northwestern portions of Chicago and its suburbs. Drivers, in this operational test of 3.000 vehicles, will be provided with route guidance in a real time framework using information from a variety of existing sources such as closed loop traffic signal systems, *999, etc. The primary source of information however will be the vehicles themselves acting as traffic probes. The 3,000 drivers recruited from the public will be persons who are, in general, familiar with the area in which they perform their daily driving. Drivers will use the equipment for 18 months. |
