| 摘要： | ADVANCE has been underway for over two years. Reports on the basic design and the challenges encountered have been presented at the previous IVHS AMERICA meetings. This report focuses on the system design and status as the Project approaches deployment in the autumn of 1994. ADVANCE is an operational test of the concept of dynamic route guidance being conducted in Northeastern Illinois. It will involve 3,000 to 5,000 motorists whose vehicles will be outfitted with on-board navigation systems. The overall system design is completed and testing is underway. The Traffic Information Center is equipped and software is being tested. The in-vehicle mobile navigation unit has been installed in 20 vehicles and is undergoing final testing. The basic RF Communication system is operational and the high speed communication system has been designed. |
