摘要: A NUMBER OF SO-CALLED MICROSCOPIC CONTROL METHODS EXIST FOR INFLUENCING TRAFFIC FLOW AT JUNCTIONS AND ON SMALL PARTS OF THE NETWORK. THE MULTIPLICITY OF INPUT AND OUTPUT FACTORS USED, THE DIFFERENT ALGORITHMS AND THE DIFFERING AREAS OF APPLICATION RENDER A THEORETICAL COMPARISON OF THE CONTROL PROCEDURES ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. EVEN THE RESULTS OF MEASUREMENTS REPORTED IN THE LITERATURE DO NOT AID COMPARISON, SINCE THE MEASURING PROCEDURES THEMSELVES ARE FREQUENTLY NOT COMPARABLE. FOR THESE REASONS IT IS NECESSARY TO COMPARE THE VARIOUS CONTROL METHODS BY MEANS OF UNIFORM EVALUATION CRITERIA AND BEFORE AND AFTER MEASUREMENTS. AS WELL AS PURE ASSESSMENT OF BENEFIT AN ANALYSIS OF EXPENDITURE IS TO BE ATTEMPTED. THE COSTS OF HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE NEEDED FOR THE INSTALLATION AND OPERATION OF THE VARIOUS PROCEDURES ARE TO BE ESTIMATED. COSTS ARE TO BE SET AGAINST BENEFITS SO THAT A SUITABLE EVALUATION MEASURE CAN BE FORMULATED. THE USE AND EVALUATION OF THE PROCEDURES IS TO BE UNDERTAKEN AT PLACES WHERE ONE METHOD IS ALREADY IN PRACTICAL USE. AREAS IN HAMBURG AND OBERHAUSEN ARE THOSE SELECTED FOR STUDY.
