摘要: The Transport Administration predicts an increase in traffic with 25 percent for cars and 55 percent for trucks in 2030 compared with 2010. This is a problem for progressive transformation of cities and regions. Several municipalities with central urban renewal projects feel that national authorities planning collides with their ambitions to limit car traffic and build homes and workplaces centrally. The purpose of the center urban regeneration projects, according to local authorities is to increase the attractiveness of the city and reduce the demand for transport and car journeys by creating accessibility and proximity, which in itself is seen as crucial to its attractiveness. National authorities and administrations such as the Transport Administration are of the view that the solutions that local authorities propose must cope with the traffic growth forecasted, while local authorities who focus on developing sustainable cities and regions think the national level way of looking on forecasts and transport solution do not comply with either the national or local environmental objectives. The project aims to map the extent of conflicts between national forecast-driven planning and local authorities targeted planning and to propose solutions and modified approach that favors sustainable transport system. The project is a collaboration between IVL Swedish Environmental Institute and Trivector Traffic.
