Surface treatments are among the most common coating types at the state low and medium volume roads. The problems associated with surface treatments are primarily fretting and bleeding. The project aims to develop an objective method to detect any defects. The method is based on data collected from the Swedish Transport Administration road profile measurements. The method builds on a previous attempt to detect the stone drop from noise-reducing pavements.
